Chris’s own leadership has concentrated on the domains of emergency medicine, critical care and infection control.
Chris has a special interest in ensuring reliable patient care and has championed the development of the GM clinical specification for high risk surgery. His work there resulted in the award of a Hunterian Professorship from the RCS(Eng) in 2002. This experience proved invaluable in the development of the GM Major Trauma service. This is now delivering excellent and sustainable patient outcomes commensurate with those of the best centres in England.
